True *Love*

* When Bilal was dying, his wife was crying, “What a calamity!!” So he told her, “Don’t say ‘What a calamity!’ Say ‘What happiness!’ for tomorrow I’ll be meeting my loved ones: Muhammad and his companions.”

* The day his father, Abu-Quhafa, embraced Islam after resisting it for more than twenty years and when he had become very old, Abu-Bakr was seen crying. When asked about the reason he said, “Because I wanted so much to see Abu-Taleb (the Prophet’s beloved uncle) pledging allegiance to the Prophet now, rather than my father, because I know how much the Prophet would have loved that.”

*At the battle of Uhud, a woman from the companions who had just lost her husband, her son and her father in battle came to the battlefield after all the martyrs were buried. People were trying to ease her pain and give her some solace by telling her the news bit by bit. They told her first about her husband and she replied, “What happened to the Prophet of Allah?” Then they told her about her son and she replied, “What happened to the Prophet of Allah?” Then they told her about her father and she replied, “What happened to the Prophet of Allah?” So they told her, “He is fine”. She replied, “I have to see him with my own eyes.” When she saw him, she said, “All thanks are to Allah. Any calamity will be easy as long as it’s not in you, O Prophet of Allah.”

The Prophet told us, “None of you will belive untill i become more beloved to him then his children, his father and all people.” (Bukhari, Muslim & an-Nasa’i)

He also said, “Whoever loves me will be with me in the Garden.” (al-Isfahani)

Musab Bin Umair

It’s an honor to be a part of an ummah which claims Mus’ab bin ‘Umayr to it’s name. A companion of the Prophet, salah allahu ‘alayhi wa salam, and a pearl amongst the youth of Quraish. He was nourished by his parents, and taken good care of. He was a model of vanity, wealth, and charm. Mus’ab was everything a fairytale youth could’ve been. It was said that if he walked down the roads of Makkah, his scent could be smelt way after he was gone. Yes, it’s Mus’ab Al-Khair. Shortly after talks begun in Makkah about the man who claims to be divine, a Prophet as he claimed he was, Mus’ab began to listen carefully to what is said. Due to his high status even though he was still an adolescent, the prestigeous circles of elitists in Makkah would invite him to their gatherings. There, he listen and heard about Mohammed, salah allahu ‘alayhi wa salam. With his curiosity, he began to ponder the seriousness of the message until one day he decided to go to darul arqam and listen what Mohammed had to say. It was there where he embraced Islam after listening to the Quran being recited and submitted to the faith. He knew that he would have to risk everything after this moment, a moment which changed the course of history.

Mus’ab hid his faith from his family in order not to be rebuked harshly. Yet, Makkah was a small town and spies within Quraish would keep close watch of Darul Arqam, and soon enough, Mus’ab was seen entering the house of Al-Arqam. News reached his mother quickly, and it made her furious. His mother was well-known for her wealth and power to the extent that she was feared by men. However, she knew her son too well and knew the conviction he had. The only thing left for her to do was to lock him in his room and place guards to secure it. Mus’ab stayed for a long while imprisoned in his room until the time of the hijrah to Habishah occured, and he managed to flee from the guards and join the small group of Muslims travelling to the land of the Habishah. Clearly, their stay didn’t last forever and they had to return to Makkah once again. His mother was even more furious this time, and again, locked him up in his room. Again, news reached of the second Hijrah to Habishah occured, and this time, he warned his mother that if any of the guards were to stand his way, he would certainly kill him. His mother saw the seriousness in her son’s eye and tone, and was left with no choice but to leave him. However, as she did so, she told him that she would disown him, and it was well-known that Mus’ab loved his mother tremendously, and kindly told her to bear witness that there was no God but Allah. She refused strongly. They parted ways while both of them were in tears.

It after the pledge of ‘Aqabah when the Prophet, salah allahu ‘alayhi wa salam, realized that little could be done in Makkah. The people of Makkah and Ta’ef have refused to accept his message and have abused him and his companions. The Prophet felt that the people in Yathrib are interested in the message he was ordered to convey, and felt that it was time to let those outside Mekkah hear about it. It was time to pick an ambassador to represent Islam and to convey the message openly to the people of Madinah. At that point, only a handful have given pledge to the Prophet, salah allahu ‘alayhi wa salam. It was the most important decision the ummah faced at that point. His decision was critical because the people of Madinah were the only hope the Muslims had at that point. As he looked around, he had the most sincere people around him, and those who were given glad-tiding of paradise. Who was he going to pick? Who was going to be the person sent as propogator of Islam? It was none other than Mus’ab Al-Khair!! Yes, the man who had given up everything for the sake of Allah. One day, Mus’ab entered the mosque while the Prophet, salah allahu ‘alayhi wa salam, was in the mosque with his companions, and they looked at Mus’ab and he was wearing an worn-out thob with holes in them. He they began to cry and so did the Prophet, salah allahu ‘alayhi wa salam. The Prophet, salah allahu ‘alayhi wa salam said, “I saw Mus’ab in Makkah and there wasn’t a youth in Makkah more blessed that Mus’ab, and now, he has left everything for the sake of Allah and His Prophet”

Let us remember Mus’ab bin ‘Umayr, and let us take him as an example for our youth. Mus’ab died as a shaheed in the battle of Uhud. He was the man picked to be the flag bearer. When his right hand was cut off by the enemy, he held it with his left, and when his left was cut off, he held it in his chest.

May Allah be pleased with Mus’ab.

Reminders

Hello. Welcome! Hope you enjoy your time here.
Come, come. Sit down and get comfortable.
We’ll be talking about something very important today; you. Yes, you.
You look confused. Well don’t be; I’m just going to be asking you a couple of questions and you have the choice to answer or keep quiet. Don’t worry, you can ask me questions also, and I’ll be glad to answer them.

Have you ever asked yourself “why am I here?” or “Why did God create me?” Is there an answer to these questions? Yes, there is. God, I will be calling him “Allah”, created you so you can worship him.
“Does he need my worship?” you ask.

No, he doesn’t. In fact, you are the one who is in need of him. Imagine he didn’t give you any food. How long would you last? Imagine he didn’t give you the ability to talk. Imagine he didn’t give you the ability to hear. Imagine you couldn’t walk. What would you do? He blessed you with all of these blessings and asked for nothing in return. The least you could do us thank him, right?

Imagine you were trapped in a dark room with no light, food, people to talk to, and no bathroom. And everything around you is so dark you can’t see your own hand. Then all of a sudden someone comes and opens the door. The light floods in and you are finally able to come out of this dark world. Wouldn’t you thank that person? Wouldn’t you at least show some gratitude? Of course. You may even keep a special place in your heart for that person, and remember him for the nice thing he gave you: another chance.

Have you ever asked yourself “what is the difference between Dunya and Akhirah?” Well look at it like this: They are like the east and west; if you get closer to one, you get farther away from the other. So you can choose the Dunya and run after its lust, desires, glitters, and sinful things, or you can pick the everlasting one: the Akhirah, with its beautiful palaces and gardens; where everything you want is at your finger tips.

Have you ever felt like you wanted to end your life? Like everything is hauled and placed on your back? Have you ever thought of giving up? If you said yes, then I want to remind you of what Allah had said. “Verily after every hardship, there is ease.” Remember that if Allah brings you to something, then He will definitely bring you through it. Just make Du’aa, do your best, and leave the rest to Allah.

Did you ever try to be something you’re not? Did you fail at that? Don’t you know that Allah created you and he made you beautiful in your own way? Allah said, “Verily we have created man from the best of forms.” Just remember to be yourself, and you will find the world full of beauty.

Allah created three kinds of days: yesterday, today, and tomorrow. As for yesterday, it has already vanished along with everything in it. It will haunt you no longer unless you sinned in it. If you did, then repent. As for tomorrow, there is no guarantee that you will be there to see it, so don’t busy yourself with it. And as for today, it is yours. When you receive a gift you don’t normally throw it, you take care of it and work hard to do good with it. Today is a gift that is why it’s called the present.

How many friends do you have? One? Two? Three? A hundred? But how do you know if your friend is who he/she is? How can you tell if he’s loyal or not? A friend cannot be considered a friend until he is tested in three occasions: in time of need, behind your back, and after your death.

How would you describe sin? Sin is a poison. It ails the one who drinks it and it stays inside your body until you take some medicine. In this case the medicine is Du’aa. If you make a sincere Du’aa asking Allah to rid you of that poison, then Inshallah Allah will heal you from it. But remember, it’s better to avoid the poison altogether then to try to heal from the damage it causes.

Has someone ever made fun of you? Do you have any animosity towards him? When someone criticizes or disagrees with you, a small ant of hatred and antagonism is born in your heart. If you do not squash that ant at once, it might grow into a snake, or even a dragon. There is a greater chance that that dragon will devour you before it devours your enemy.

Assalamu Alaykum!
